To be able to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) you will need to gain and demonstrate competency. This certificate allows you to test appliances, schedule when this needs to be carried out and covers how you generally administer the asset registers. You will also be able to carry out both visual inspections.

 

The need to gain this qualification is due to The Electricity at Work Regulations Act, 1989 that states that "as may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger". This one day course covers everything you need to know about PAT Testing and how to carry this out. It will also cover current legislation.

 

This course also covers the Management of electrical equipment maintenance. This is enables you to manage the PAT testing of appliances for an organisation as well as being able to simply carry out the PAT testing.

 

This management of PAT testing has, for some time now, been considered to be an integral part of the requirements for any commercial organisation and is designed to ensure the correct management for the protection of users from the dangers of electrical appliances.

Who is this qualification for?

There are no pre-entry requirements to attend this course. You do not need to have any prior knowledge of electrical theory and principles or the understanding of electrical terminologies.
